Like any self-respecting dog owner, my dog is the apple of my eye. Luigi is a 10-pound Jack Russell Chihuahua furball and he’s been running circles around me – literally – for the past 14 years.

Plus, it breaks my heart to see and hear him suffer in any way.

I Tried It: A CBD Tincture for Pups…

I recently came across Hempcy’s line of Happy Paws CBD Tinctures. By the way, the dosages are super easy to measure out – each drop contains .55mg of CBD, so all I had to do was measure out 4 drops on his food for a total of 2mg. Luigi’s never been a fan of fish, but judging by how quickly he now clears his bowl, he definitely doesn’t mind the flavor! I started off with 2mg in his morning bowl and have since graduated him to 2mg in his evening bowl as well.After just a few days of giving him these drops, I’ve already noticed a massively positive difference in Luigi. He’s a mellower version of himself, without losing his playful personality. He chills on the balcony, but he focuses on sunbathing instead of harassing pedestrians. He gives me permission to leave my apartment and doesn’t even ask what time I plan on being back. I’m honestly ecstatic that I decided to try these products out.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say he’s been friendlier with other dogs we’ve since met on walks, but he’s polite, which is still a major win and all I can really ask for. The final test will be to see how he interacts with kids, but I’m optimistic, which is more than I can say I was before giving Happy Paws’ tincture a try.
