WHILE IT STILL FEELS like it’s the dead of summer in Los Angeles, we’re actively calling in fall’s cooling energy to help slow things down, start looking inward, and enter our Quiet Era.
Historically, fall is the ideal time to reflect, detox, and let go of the detritus that is no longer serving us in our daily lives (which was hard to discern during the summer frenzy!). This week, we’re focusing on supportive self-care practices that help to nourish the mind, body, and soul as we clean our seasonal slate and prepare for a restorative time ahead.
FOOD OVER DRUGS WHOLE BODY DETOX TEA | If you don’t have the wherewithal to start adding functional practitioners and herbalists to your proverbial “team” at the moment, we totally get it. Food Over Drugs is making it easy to access the potent support of nature’s best herbs and botanicals in tea form for medicinal purposes without having to leave the comfort of your own home.
We got our hands on their Whole Body Detox Tea, which is seriously the real deal (and we say this as people who are chronically trying anything and everything). This formula contains a full-spectrum blend of the top detoxifying herbs that target the lymphatic system, liver, kidney, bladder, lungs, skin, and gastrointestinal tract—pau d’arco bark, cleavers herb, and burdock root (just to name a few). Whether you’re supporting a detox-forward cleanse, or just in need of a detoxification boost, this tea is the ultimate prompt to keep things flowing in the right direction.
GLOW RECIPE BLACKBERRY RETINOL BLEMISH SERUM | Glow Recipe has been on our radar for years at this point, thanks to their epic Watermelon Glow AHA Night Treatment, which we feel comfortable calling a “Cult Beauty Fave.”
Now, they’ve added another fruit to their fruit basket with their first retinol serum—the Blackberry Retinol Blemish Serum. This clinically effective, triple retinoid helps to visibly clarify blemishes, unclog pores, and diminish the appearance of discoloration, fine lines, and wrinkles. What we love most about Glow Recipe’s newest formula is their efficacious blend of retinol, retinal, and retinyl ester, which maximizes the benefits of vitamin A while minimizing any potential for irritation. Delicious.
FABLERUNE HARVEST MOON BATH SOAK | When we first learned about FABLERUNE, we were actively trying to figure out if this was an actual brand or a witch collective. Great news: it’s basically both. Not only did we have a life-changing Rune Reading with their co-founders, who took us through the ancient ritual of gaining insight into our past, present, and future, but we also had the magical opportunity to try their beautifully crafted, botanical products that are as mystical as they are effective.
At the top of our fall list is their Harvest Moon Bath Soak, which uses an invigorating blend of mustard powder, turmeric, and dried ginger to help soothe the body and promote wellness—Ayurveda-style. We have been diving into this bath soak at least once a week for total regrounding alongside FABLERUNE’s gorgeous Herbarium Soy Candle. PS the packaging will blow your mind (it feels that bespoke).
AERA ESSENTIAL OIL DIFFUSER | Fact: not all essential oils / essential oil diffusers are created equal. That’s why—when we’re looking for reliable, clean fragrance in a diffuser that doesn’t lose scent after three puffs—we turn to Aera.
The Aera Diffuser, aka our newest at-home essential, is unlike any other diffuser on the market, using patented technology to fill rooms up to 1,000 square feet with clean, even fragrance that lasts up to 800 hours (which is 5x longer than most brands). We’ve been relying on their pet-friendly Lavender scent, designed by a master perfumer (chic), to keep us focused, calm, and nested.
SPLITS59 LIBBY SHERPA HALF-ZIP | Staying comfortable and looking cozy for the fall season doesn’t have to include looking like a haggard mess. Splits59 combines “cool girl classics” with high-quality, athletic-forward material that basically feels like a second skin.
We’re living in their Libby Sherpa Half-Zip (in every color tbh!) for the ideal structured sherpa vibe that feels comfortable enough to lie on the couch, but looks refined enough to pair with fitted denim for a glass of biodynamic red in an intimately dark space with a significant other. You get it.
