Bald Head Island 2025

We had a great 4th of July on Bald Head Island. Here’s a recap of the highlights from the first half of our trip! Part II with the Fourth of July coming next!

We are wrapping up our crazy travel season with our extended family trip to Bald Head Island! We met my parents, sister, her husband, and my nieces at a new-to-us rental house on the ocean. We enjoyed lots of family time and sunshine (which is lucky because the forecast said rain everyday!)

Both boys just loved the ocean this year. Mazen is a very confident swimmer, and this was the first year Birch truly loved the ocean (despite getting “crushed” by many waves).

Bald Head Island: Summer 25!

We met the family in Southport for a very early dinner with my sister’s in-laws who live there. And then we boarded the 6pm ferry to the island.

Our house this year was great! Spacious and 3 king bedrooms.

We spent our whole first day at the beach!

And this was the only photo I took : )

Parents’ Night Out

My parents watched all four grandchildren on the first night so the younger parents could go out to a nice dinner.

We went to Aqua at the Shoal’s Club and ate on the porch.

Spicy Margs

I had some delicious fish with crab and grits!

We finished our dinner on the early side and didn’t want to get home before bedtime (IYKYK) so we went to Bald Head Bottle to have another round of drinks.

And after that it was still too early to go home, so we got ice cream! This key lime and coconut combo was the highlight of the night for me!

I had bagels or yogurt bowls for breakfast most mornings. And went for about an hour walk on the beach each day.

BHI Club

When the kids got tired of the beach, we went to the Club pool a few times (like when the men went golfing!) The pool was crowded but the kids loved the waterslides and zero entry. I had an Aperol Spritz around 4:30 : )

They loved the group Bingo happening one afternoon.

Shoal’s Club Dinner

The Shoal’s Club bar, Latitudes, does a half-off special on Mondays, so naturally Clifford Younger loves to go this night! The food was SO good, and we nearly ordered one of everything. I enjoyed an Old Fashioned, too!

Family Photos

Another tradition: lots of photos and some dancing to the live music with Grammie!

Part II coming tomorrow!
